Today's Inspiration: People tend to link success to materialism. Materialism has its limitations. Ultimately a successful life is built by developing the spirit not the body. Time and matter must give way to the eternal and the spiritual. Millions of dollars are spent on looking young externally which is subject to decay. We refuse to spend time and money on the development of the spirit. Jesus says we should not live by bread alone but by the word of God that nourishes the spirit. Matthew 4:4. Regardless of our pursuits or achievements in life, the hungers of the spirit must be primary. We must seek that kingdom and His righteousness first. Matthew 6:33.
Prayer teaches us faith. It is not a guarantee of getting what we want. It is the hourly dependence on God, our conviction that even though we may not get what we want or think we need, we know and love the One who denies us in this instance for His good reason and for our ultimate goal.
The most significant relationships in life is based on this kind of faith where love and trust triumph over disappointment. Habakkuk 2:2-4.
Faith is more than believing. The early church was tossed with fears, dissension and tensions yet they remain faithful to the teaching of Jesus, trust in God's timing and learn from discipline. God is looking for faithfulness. Fellowship with God will always be threatened by unexpected detours.
Whatever we are going through and God seemed so far away, it is our assignment to lay aside our doubts and fear and fall in line with God's purpose, always waiting patiently for the last jigsaw to be found and put in place, finding courage and strength to move forward in the fellowship with our Father.
To understand God is to trust Him even when it does not make sense and we don't understand why such things are happening to us.
We have to abandon our heart sins of disobedience, rebellion and all sinful nature that cannot please God to be free. As God spoke to Moses that He will have mercy on those He has mercy and compassion on those He has compassion. Romans 9:14. It does not depend on men's efforts but God's mercy. Verse 16. He is the potter and you are the clay. A potter loves to form his clay to a vessel of honour He is proud of. This is why you have to wait till His refining process is over. He will make everything beautiful in His time. Romans 9:19-21. Every of our life depends on His sovereignty.
