Today's Inspiration: No believer should continue to sin because God's seed remains in him, he cannot go on sinning because he is born of God. For God is greater than our hearts and He knows everything. 1 John 3:9, 20. Love is demonstrated with actions and in truth. Faith and action makes you an overcomer. The victory that overcomes the world is our faith. The one who overcomes the world is he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:4-5.
The closer you are with God the better will be your self control. Self control is the last fruit of the spirit to attain. Why is self control so difficult? Our flesh is always fighting against the spirit. This is why meditation of the word is important. The more we meditate the better will be our self control. Without self control we are vulnerable to attacks from the evil one.
We are prone to react. Reacting is not good for our soul. We have to be watchful and pray. Just when we think we have moral strength and strong in the spirit, the enemy will come with his pranks leaving us stunned to the core. Moses had no self control of his anger. Fearing that by speaking to the rock, it will not produce water and hitting the rock had given him success on previous occasion, he reacted with anger and hit the rock which was not according to God's instruction. Though water gushed out, it was not pleasing to God for He wants to demonstrate His power through our lips. In the process, Moses could only see a vision of God's plan but was unable to accomplish what he had been commissioned to do when he was called. Numbers 20:8-12.
Self control is therefore the weapon against every reaction to negative emotions of our formative influences. It's a spiritual weapon that overpowers every onslaught of the enemy.
Our God is one of divine order. He blessed us to be a blessing. If we have material possessions and see a brother suffering, but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?1 John 3:17. God is love.
Seeking God's will and purpose surpasses every prayer. When we seek Him, we must have confidence that He hears us because we have asked according to His will. And if we are confident He hears us then we should conclude that Whatever we ask of Him, we have it. 1 John 5:14-15.
